A few small studies suggested that ECG skills may be partially lost during medical training, possibly due to the lack of repetitive reinforcement. Combining this information with the fact that residents don't have that enough time to refresh their ECG knowledge by reading textbooks, we came up with the idea of ECG micro-teaching.
Inspired by the many social media concepts that deliver small bite-sized information, we are attempting to deliver short pieces of information -but sustainable- every week in the form of an ECG quiz. The estimated time needed for this weekly activity is 1 minute to answer the quiz and 5-15 minutes to read the explanation.
These are the rules:
- A new ECG quiz in the form of a multiple-choice question will be posted every Sunday morning.
- Responses can only be submitted over the following five days (Deadline: midnight Thursday).
- The answer and explanation will be released after the deadline (every Friday morning).
- The competition will last seven quizzes, after which the highest score will be announced.
You can also access the leaderboard and see the three highest-scoring residents. The highest-scoring resident will be awarded a prize. You must have responded to all the quizzes and surveys to be considered for the prize.
This year
We added a new function, a mobile app for ios users, to minimize the number of clicks to reach the quiz. You can download the app by following the instructions on the following link:

We have no discrimination against non-ios users. We could achieve this with the available resources within such a short timeframe. We are working on expanding this function to the android platform.
